Sideshow just added pics of the 1/6th scale throne to thier site, it has some images if both consoles, that one and the one on the inside of the left arm.

There is ton of angles on that chair that must have a been a real pain to replicate.

Awesome build Jon. Wish I had one of those. Oh wait, that is it. ;) too bad we are building that one for GC. I know there are some elements we will be changing once we start on our own chairs. You've been doing great work. Thanks for letting us use your wood shop. I don't think this would be half as cool if we did it in my short basement. :)

I'd say we are now about 93% done.

Okay. After day 10 we are coming up to the finish line. With another day or 2 we should be done with the painting and the chair should be ready to makes it's debut. We got the backs on and the first major layer of filler to smooth out the backs. Two attempt at applying the back in one full sheet failed so we turned to our trusty stripping system. We think it worked out great in the end. We will need to figure out a new system when building our other 2 chairs. Sadly we were unable to accomplish lighted control panels due to the fact we could find correct buttons in time. With the bright colored paints we used they should pop enough that lights won't matter in the end.

The stand has one coat of paint on it already and the lower ribs need painting yet before they are applied to the large black platform. Jonathan did an awesome job building the stand for us. Thanks to Molly for painting the control panels for us. That was time saved so we could finish getting the backs skinned.

thinking of using durhams water putty on the back to smooth out the contour anyone ever use that stuff? does it stick well to wood? will it paint well? do you think it will crack if hit...

By far the best throne I have seen done - looking perfect so far. Any plans on lighting the control panels? I was planning a project myself as soon as my workshop (garage) warms up. I could really use any dimensions on yours that you could provide if you can ever find the time. Do you need help ID-ing the metal detail features for the head piece? I ran across a parts identification a while ago.
