What can remove dried modeling glue?

I have a metal item that has dried, what I think is modeling glue on it. I don't want to scrape it off and ruin the finish of the metal. Thoughts, ideas?

Maybe Goo Gone or some other type of hood cleaner type product? Thats what I use to clean up PC cases and they can have all sorts of dried up crud on them.

Be careful with the solvents as some of them may discolor the metal. Did you try just nicking it off with your fingernail? Actually anything softer than the metal should work and not scrape it up. Modeling glue dries fairly hard, it should chip off.
