This may be old news to some and new to others
For those of you that did not know
and may have been wanting to buy one
Harbor Freight now carries vacuum pumps
they have two units. But the one I had an interest
in was the unit that pulled 2.5 CFM.
I just hooked it up to an empty vacuum chamber
and in a few minutes it pulled the amount of vacuum
necessary to degas silicone rubber.
its very quiet and a bigger than a table top air brush compressor.
and at a sale price of $89.99 until Dec 26th
plus I had a 15% off coupon.

How much vacuum did you get? It is listed as 10 Pacal, but I don't know how to convert that to "Hg. Did you have a vacuum gauge to it?

Here is a pic of the gauge again the vacuum chamber is empty

How big is your actual vacuum chamber ? Where did you get that ?

The vacuum chamber or Jar is about 9 inches high 6 1/2 inches wide
I got it years ago and I want to say, I ordered it from a Edmund Scientific catalog but I am not to sure.
This is the info on the jar Label
Nalge Company

Nalgene Vacuum Chambers Cat.No. 5305-0609

Telephone: 716-586-8800
Hope this info helps

The vac jar and base are a bit dusty, I have not used them in awhile
Here is a pic of the new pump with the gauge (which is an old hand Vacuum pump)
and the vacuum jar on the base
