Quick and Dirty Pulse Rifle

With the holidays approaching and all their time/cash demands,
I decided to take a break from Firefly/Serenity projects with a fairly simple one.
I bought a rough resin casting of a Pulse Rifle off eBay a year or so ago.
I decided to build that but I wanted to do it with the stock extended.
I had machined a piece of aluminum channel after I got the resin casting, and then let it sit.
I found an old M-1 Garand sling I had laying around and it got me to thinking that would accent the look of an olive drab shelled pulse rifle.

So here it is, under way.
I rough sanded it for shape, drilled out all the cast "hardware" to replace with real hardware, and mounted the shoulder stock.
Time to start with the bondo and the spot putty.

The Aliens APC is one I built years ago.
Vasquez needs her smart gun and lamp re-attached,
Ripley needs her flame thrower re-slung.

Re: shortening the stock;

I chose a length of pull that matched some real and imaginary weapons.
It also allows for a nice cheek weld without bumping your nose on the back of the shroud.
It also handles pretty nice.

And its definitely different from most you see....

Nice PR. Im curious of the linage of the rifle. It looks like a spat version2. Good luck with the build.

I wish my version 2's looked that good, I would never have needed to make a version 3!!

Looks sweet. Extended stocks are something you rarely see on a Pulse Rifle. Nice to see someone trying something different.
