So I got my Samaritan yesterday and was kinda disgusted by the weathering. I was stupid and forgot to take some before pictures but it was similar to the one that belongs to CeSquared here, except the weathering was even heavier.

It also felt and looked very much like resin for some reason.
I was going to strip the paint and redo everything but them I decided to try and fix the existing paint job before removing everything. I need you sincere opinion guys, on whether I should just redo everything or keep going this route (or whether I should have just left it alone in the first place :lol )
Heres what I did so far. I removed most of the silver paint by sanding/polishing it off with a very fine sanding foam block. then I went over the edges again with a coarser block to remove the paint from some of the edges and other key areas. After that I went over those areas with a bit of bluing solution to make the metal look a bit more like steel and less like aluminum. I might go over it again to darken it a bit more. Again, its a Work in progress.
Click on the thumbnails to see a lager picture and then again on that picture to see it full size. And then leave an HONEST OPINION !
*edit* forgot to add. Now when i pick it up, it actually looks like its made of metal. And I know thats its only a mind trick, but it actually feels heavier too!
