Unfortunately, no, as we don't allow the posting of authentic police/government ID's or credentials in a ready to use format on the RPF.

Sorry fellas!

I did not know that. You really do learn something every day.

This also makes me think. "How accurate is this ID to a real NYPD ID?"

Anyone know?

Brad

The prop looks great, and If you are going to put it up for sale Ill be in, if you are going to share it, ill be in anyway.

For as far as I know, the Id is not accurate to the real ones that the police uses in NY, but again, things may have cahnged in the last year, there are several police members that may help us with that ;)

Anyway, again I want one!!!!!

PLEASE!!!1

Take care, and good work!

Close enough to fool 90% of the public everywhere and 90% of the cops outside of NY.

The real NYPD cards have a very similar layout, but have some tells and there is also some stuff on the back.

One thing, many of the replicas and props look BETTER than the dept. issued cards because the issued cards still have that 80's computer generated look to the fonts...just one level above dot matrix!

NYPD Blue, Law & Order, CSI NY, Die Hard, 3rd Watch, etc. all had pretty realistic looking cards because NY hasn't changed them in decades and it is a pretty simple design.

Most folks may already know this, but most NYPD members carry, wear and display a fake badge. There is a regular supplier of "replica" badges to the real cops so the cops can stash their dept. issued shields in a safe or safety deposit box. The penalty and paperwork is so severe for a lost or stolen dept. issued badge that it is almost pro forma to buy a "secondary" badge within weeks of getting an issued one. The secondary badge is almost identical to the issued one.

In the state of NY, if the ID card has a red background it indicates that the bearer has full police authority and may carry a firearm. Other LEO's without that full authority or are only allowed to carry while working have a different color background.

My ID is the top and the real prop is the sesond pic.

PM me for interest.

As for the badges. I have sourced a guy that will make these badges in metal and with correct numbers for $125 each. But he will only do runs of 10 or more.

Brad

Hm... Yep, the number is the problem. I know a shop where you can get badges for 50$, but the number is problem... And these are real badges.

So, I search for a guy who can make a mold from the badges and change the number. so maybe I can get a raccoon city Police Departement Badge from a normal LAPD Badge. That would be a nice idea. So, why only use the badge for john mcclane...

If anyone can make replica badges, there is a need for good replicas. I am sure there are people wanting DIE HARD, NYPD BLUE, LETHAL WEAPON, etc. badges.

Brad

I thought that post 911, NYPD issued new credit card style ID's with the statue of liberty on the front and all the fancy holo security ? Anyway, this is a good site for copy badges, some of the guys specialise in NYPD etc so may be able to help out with obtaining the right numbers.

Yes but totally inaccurate. Thanks for the bump though! :thumbsup

Ok, I will use this thread, so I dont have to open another one...

I need the badge number of John McClane, I think it was 881 in the first movies, but is it the same number in Die Hard 4?

I saw a different version with 8295, but I really don't know...
