Silicone barrier agent?

Is there anything around the house or hardware store that I can use as a silicone barrier agent? For two or more part silicone molds.

Whadya mean? Like something that will keep 2 halves of a 2 part mold from sticking?

A light coat of Vaseline should do the trick...... not that I have any around my house.....

2nd on the vaseline

the commercial sprays are basically vaseline.


use it thin though, any glops, or streaks will be transferred onto your old.

Bar soap. Dunk your paint brush into water. Brush it onto the bar soap and brush the surface of your silicone. It dries very thin.

You can also use a thin layer of spray paint if you dont care about getting the paint on your master pattern. This is good for only some circumstances and is my infrequent alternate.
