Here was my build diary. Not the most thorough documentation, but I tried:

Here's the finished piece:

I'm trying to think of a cool, fifties sounding name for my gun (like the Weta rayguns all have names). Can anyone suggest a good name?

WOW, this is fantastic, what a tremendous raygun, well done. I've been thinking of doing a steampunk raygun as my next project, after i finish my hammerburst. However this has inspired me further, again well done. Lovin' that colour!!!.

The best part for me, is the middle clear housing showing the valves etc. That is a great touch.

Well for a 50's piece it has to have the obligitory "X" in the name somewhere.

Fun stuff!

That's just plain freakin' awesome!!! :love

The hand dial on the left side screams "B" movie and the vacumm tubes really date the piece. You've put a lot of thought into this golden age work of art and it shows... well done! :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

As for a name, how about The Atom Smasher-3000? :lol

That is beautiful. Just perfect. Love the retro turquiose color and big vac. tubes and lights. Really, really cool!

i see you decided to paint the hand grip after all, it makes a big difference in my opinion.

well done on a stunning looking piece, also thanks for the build record.

you have some great skills.

That's a lovely build!
I really like the colour you've used and the tubes in the clear middle section.
What's next?

First thing I thought when I saw it was Duck Dodgers. Dunno about a name but if you want a model number you might could go with something like DD-24.5 C :lol
