Hello everyone!
I've started a Poppy Hammer and a chestpiece for a cosplayer here in my town.
She was building the armor by herself but couldn't figure out how could she build the hammer and a translucid star to fit the chestpiece, so she contacted me to help her on this build.
This is the reference image she sent me:
I started doing a main body 3D sketch then sent the .obj file to pepakura just to get the pattern. The other patterns I made using Inkscape, printed all of them and traced to the eva foam.
For this build, I used 10mm (main body, wings and star base), 5mm (stars) and 3mm (details) eva foam
A little test to see the scale.
With all parts ok, I started gluing using a contact cement, sanded some edges and used some quick seal to fill the gaps
Mounted just to see how it was going on, not bad (i think)
The chestpiece was made out of paper, reinforced with fiberglass and resin, then I used some bodyfiller to get a smooth surface.
I used some primer the a glossy spay paint to make a silicone mold for the chestpiece. The main point is tho get a crystal looking cast using some epoxy resin
