Hey guys,
This is the first sculpture I created a mould of and resin cast copies; it was an awesome experience! Looking forward to to more projects, just wanted to share
I sculpted a facehugger that sits on my monitor so I wanted an egg as a pen holder
I cast 3 copies so far, but rushed the first paint job because I really wanted to try a few things and just get one completed and out of the way. I spent a lot more time refining the paint job on the second one and here it is.
Some process images:
Materials:
- Original sculpture: Apoxie Sculpt https://www.avesstudio.com/apoxie/apoxie-sculpt
- Silicon Mould: Polytek PlatSil 71-11 https://www.polytek.com/products/platsil-71-11-silicone-rubber
- Casting Resin: PolyTek EasyFlo 60 https://www.polytek.com/products/easyflo-60-liquid-plastic
If you have any questions about the process, let me know.
