Thinking out loud (hummmm):

I wonder when 3d Printed Figures will replace the current and future wax ones?
They are already scanning the face to a computer now.

(I hope not.)

They will use 3D scans to do clay presses if they have them. They have been for a while. It still takes an artists touch to turn it into the life-like finished statues, and then of course there is the fact that they can't scan everybody. Don't hold your breath, the practical sculptors aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

As for the wax? It is tradition... and it is a "wax" museum not a 3D print museum. The wax is not going anywhere either. ;)

I hope your right Mr Mold Maker,
I'd hate to see tradition go away because of technology.
I know they would still have to do the lifelike, exterior skin texture and hair.
It's just that if given an inch, will they take a mile?
