This might sound nuts but am i the only one that has used normal makeup and mud and other household things for weathering?

The reason i ask is due to getting older i keep seeing new products for weathering the Tamiya powders Mig washs and other things are they a tad easier for us oldsters?

I have used just about everything! The new products indeed make life a lot easier. For example to recreate mud I mixed some powders (similar to Tamiyas) with white glue and a tad of paint, along with baking soda. Then apply as desired:

I've heard of people using cinnamon for rust. So I'm guessing anything that wouldn't rot would probably work.

Maybe you can practice your weathering techniques in a VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!

Just kidding, but seriously that is an awesome job on that van.

I use mostly art store oil paints and odorless turpenoid for my weathering
