So I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to foam armor and more certainly one when it comes to pepakura, but I'm not letting that stop me. Rather than building the entire Mark 42 suit as a first project, I decided to do the gauntlet and boot that Tony has after being captured by the Mandarin. I've been scouring the forums and getting some wonderful advice, tips, and overall tutorials to study the hell out of, so hopefully I can avoid some common pitfalls, but we'll see.
I'll be periodically editing this to add photos of the build. Let's do this!

Health has been **** lately, so I haven't gotten as much done as I was hoping, but I've gotten the initial foam boot base constructed. The scaling mostly worked, although the sole of the heel ended up being too narrow, so some scabbing in of extra foam was needed.

So, first time working with pepakura and I knew enough to do a test piece just out of paper before going to my foam base. Good thing too, look at that scaling! That boot dwarfs my poor diminutive foot. I've scaled things down and I'll try this again. I'm a tad jealous of all the guys making their suits who, you know, have the right body proportions.
