Yellow looks a little crappy on the photos, due them being waaaaay bigger than the actual piece

but using a 5 hair brush for all those tiny details and lines, adds a little unwanted structure to the coats.
I also needed to take a little of artistic freedom. I only did 3 rows of the chessboard pattern. This was a little tricky, because of the complex movie model, compared to the simplified animated model
Starting the wings later, I really need a break first.... and a pizza

I really feel like a sniper when painting this. Dip the brush... slowly breath out....... stroke !... repeat

Thanks for the kind words :)

Heres my progress for todays afternoon. The wing is not finished yet, need to straighten out the lines a little, which turns out to be tricky again, due the wings surface detail.
Also, I tried the tip with a white base coat on some spare parts, but that didn´t change alot. The white was shining through after three coats so I didn´t care and continued on the black surface. Yellow, orange and red now are my least favourite colors on bigger surfaces

Nice work! That's looking awesome. :thumbsup :thumbsup I was thinking of doing this colour scheme. It looks like it's tricky enough in 1/72! Maybe I should look at getting a larger Hasbro Tie to work with.............:(

Just finished "Sabine´s Masterpiece" custom painted TIE

I left of the stand to display it in landed position. I might do a litte diorama diplay sometime later. Maybe I am switching bases with the Falcon if, the smaller DS base can balance the freighter.

Some minor changes compared to what is seen in the REBELS episode. As descirbed earlier, the chessboard patters is just 3 rows, due the much simplified version of the struts, compared to the complex movie model.
Because of different wing dimensions animated vs movie, the painted inside might look slightly different too.
I also didn´t manage.... eerr.... I didn´t even try to exactly mirror both wing insides

The "unfinished" stripes are wanted that way

Guess Sabine ran out of color there or was interrupted
And last, when I was finished and put it on the shelfs between everything else, the clean, bright and shiny animated look felt wrong, so I decited to weather it up, might have turned out a little to dark on inside wings, but I am fine how it looks.
