Weathering pleather/vinyl?

Wondering if anyone has done any weathering on vinyl for their costumes and what methods they used. I have some stretch pleather/vinyl from Jo-anns and want to weather it so it looks as battle-worn as my armor. Thanks!

It kinda depends on what kind of battle damage you want to give it. If you want it scratched up, lightly take sand paper to it, or brush on marks with an acrylic paint. If you want faded spots, take a little bit of acetone to it. If you want it dirtied up, there's a product called Fuller's Earth that you can add to it. That should get you started! :)

Thanks for the info. I mainly want it to have a slight "dirty" look to it. Kinda grungy. I'm making the batsuit from Arkham Knight.
