Thanks for the help! On the MF cells, I bought some 2" pine dowel, cut it, and used a belt sander to round the edges (Deskinning my knuckles a few times) then a bandsaw/dremel to etch in the indentions. I am going to redo the rifle from the beginning this time. There are a number of issues with how I cut/assembled it, and I learned a ton from it. The stock was miscut (I made it to be detachable) and I did not measure twice. Fortunately MDF is not horrifically expensive, so not too much lost. I'm also going to look into making some parts thinner/hollow to try to reduce weight. It's not extremely heavy, but some cons are a little weird with some props, plus carrying it won't be too much fun
