War Of The Worlds

Just made this neat little kit from Pegasus Hobbies of the lovely manta ray style War Machine from the 1950's War of the Worlds.

The George Pal machine is still one of my favorites! It has a presence and alien grace which contrasted so well with the Earth technology.

The last photo has what I call the 'Jeff Lynn' version from the album- I like the older style dating of the design but it does violate one of the books descriptions- Martian technology never developed the circular hinge'wheel. They used a series of curved sliding plates to achieve the same function.

I love the copper tome you used for the hull- some builders make it too shiny and it ruins the scale.
