Here is the idea I had for my take on the Kandarian dagger, handle is going to be made of a 1:1 resin replica human femur bone. The blade is going to be shaped and ground from a bar of aluminium. The finish that I shall be going for on the blade should resemble the effect on a hand napped flint arrowhead, which will be aged and weathered to make it look the part. Thought about wrapping the handle with a torn, tattered, aged and stained hessian cloth. Then possibly add some sort of claws or teeth to replicate a cross guard. Let me know what you guys think of the design so far, and I will try to update as soon as I've made a little head way on the project. Happy prop building/collecting peoples. :)

Sounds interesting, I'd like to see how it turns out. I've always wanted to build a replica of the dagger in Evil Dead 2 but it looks a tad complicated for me to get it accurate enough :)

Just gotta grind the other side of the blade and make the blade edge more uneven and prehistoric lookin.

Nice I like the effect
In the blade, looking good :)

Thanks buddy, I really appriciate the kind words. Still a ways to go, got replica claws to install for a guard too. Quite excited about this project. :)

No worries, credit where credits due, I'm looking forward to seeing the end result ;-)

17240578_1491553960864025_8643834402800106824_o.jpgA little ageing work done to the blade tonight, nearly a shame to cover up that lovely shiny metal but it was never supposed to look clean and new. Not quite there yet, just going to take a little time to get it looking just right. Does any body know of any good special effects fake blood that dries still looking like blood, I think it would look cool with traces of old blood on it. Any advice/tips greatly appreciated. :)

17500520_1497463473606407_1555769218_o.jpgEagle claws attached to the handle as a tri clawed cross guard. Will be putting auto body filler around and in between the claws, so that they sort of look like they are protruding from the bone it self. Fingers crossed this works!!!

Looking good, with a little bit of work with the filler it should give a nice effect :)

Thanks, I have one of those Dremels so I shall be doing a little intricate grinding work to hopefully give it a bony fleshy look. Just a little trial and error from here on out, but I think I know what I'm doing, haha.
