Hey guys,
I wanted to share my latest BSG costume here. These green BDU's are from the Raptor crash in the Kobol's Last Gleaming arc at the end of season 1 and the beginning of season 2. I really enjoyed seeing our character's "in the ****" and I wanted to replicate the grit and grime that accumulated from being stranded on Kobol.
The greens I modified myself, adding imitation suede, rub n' buff'd buckles, webbing, accurate belt loops, Anovos rank pins, and a Galactica patch from Alchemy Arms. The physical weathering was done with a pumice stone and the topical weathering is various shades of brown and black acrylic paint stippled with a natural sea sponge. The blood is halloween stage blood painted over top with gloss Mod-Podge for a fresh, wet look. The costume is rounded out with brown and black creme makeup and blood gel in the style of chief's wounds from the Raptor crash.
The sidearm is a resin kit from Alchemy Arms that I assembled and painted. This was an excellent kit, possibly the sharpest cast that I've ever purchased. The holster rig I fabricated from scratch using screen caps and Propworx auction photos.
Thanks for looking! I'd love to hear what you think.
Regards,
Austin
