Wonderbat - Homer at the Bat

"It all started last year during a terrible thunderstorm where I locked myself out of the house. Sheltering myself with a large piece of sheet metal, I ran for cover under the tallest tree I could find. Something told me this was a very special, very magical piece of wood...that I could make a bat out of. I put my homemade football on hold and set to work on making the world's greatest bat."

This year is the 25th anniversary of Homer at the Bat. In honor of Homer being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, it struck me that I should have a Wonderbat. So I ordered a wood burning kit from Amazon and a bundle of blank bats from eBay, and here we go.

I originally was going by what would Homer do philosophy. I kind of didn't think Homer would really do much to finish his bat, but I didn't like the look of just unfinished maple so I stained it a bit. I also made a second one with the text moved closer to the end and a bit bigger lightning bolt which I think is a bit closer to the one in the show.
