My first costume making adventure was making Green Arrow armor for last Halloween. My wife was Black canary, and our kids were other children were members of the justice League. My wife and I will be at ECCC this year and she wants to be black canary and G.A. again. I didn't like how my first attempt went, so I'm trying again. tumblr_o4wvr6Td8v1qc63ooo4_r1_500.jpg this is what I'm going for.

This was, my first attempt

Any tips and critiques are welcome. I hope to have this done in time for ECCC in a few weeks. Wish me luck!

For the first version, I just need say, you need new boots. Or you need cover your boots with some eva foam etc... Otherwise everything looks perfect.
Yeah I totally agree about the boots, i rushed it and it shows. I have a plan for version 2.0 boots that I'll hopefully get to this weekend. I'll post an update tonight. I'm getting to crunch time, ECCC is next week!

Been doing a little work throughout the week and I have the upper body mostly finished. I just need to finish fabricating the belt then it's prep for paint time. One week left, tick tock

Made some progress today, fabrication is done. The last few pieces not shown have plastidip drying.
We should get most of the paint done tomorrow and start assembly.

What material are you using to make this? EVA foam?
Yes, I'm using the white 4mm EVA foam from TNT cosplay, and regular 2mm craft foam for the thin details. I wanted it to be thin and flexible, however in hind sight I wish I would have gone for both 6mm and 8mm for most of it. Love and learn I guess.
