Star Wars Diorama

This is possibly one of the most amazing things I've ever seen on the RPF. I love the way you've sectioned off the room into different themes. It looks incredible.

Just speechless... The in-progress pics are almost more fun than the finished.

Some questions (I have many, but will limit myself!):

Do you do all the work yourself? Both the figures and the set pieces?

Do you do set design/construction professionally? If not, you should!

Where did you get the war club for the sand person?

How about the Chewie head/bust (one of the hardest subjects to get correct)?

This has got to be one of the best post I've seen, my mind can't comprehend the super fantastic 1:1 scale awesomeness. Great work!

Hi,

I have worked in the last three years on some life size dioramas. Hope you like, what I have done so far.

You have also done an exceptional (and unique) job with the poses. Most are very dynamic, and emulate the film scene perfectly.

Leia in the prison cell is a perfect example...

Wow, thank you all for the overwhelming feedback.

To answer some of the questions:

I am a laywer for white collar crime. I am not a professional set builder or so. I always thought, that my fingers are all thumbs, until I started this project.

I build most of the sets myself, except the desert and ice set. I had help here.

I also build R2-D2 myself. I am a member of the R2-builder club. Aktuelle R2 was the whole starting point.

Next step was, that my family was invited to a halloween party. My wife came up with the idea, to go as Star Wars charakters (and I suppose she regrets this eversince). She was thinking about some commercial quality cosplays, while I came up with screenaccurate stormtrooper armor and Darth Vader costume. My idea was, to put them on mannequins afterwards and have some company for good old R2.

I suppose this was the point when I was infected by the life-size virus.

I also build most of the mannequins myself too.

The props and models have been collected.

I got some questions about the pieces, that I have in my collection. For those who are interested I make a small tour through the items.

Let us start with a panorama walk through the room itself. It is a home cinema, that I use to display the collection of Star Wars items.

The room has 70 qm. This is, how the room actually looks right now:

Your work is awesome, as is your collection!! Thank you for sharing the details of the individual items. The model displays are awesome, especially the SD, rebel transport, Tantive IV and the large walker by the snow trooper.

Thank you. These models are really great.

The first one is the Tantive IV. This beast is 41 inch long. It is the great kit from Chris Kelley. The model was builded by Daniel Beck, the genius who made most of my custom build items. His work is terrific. This is his homepage:

The AT-AT is also made by him. The scale is 1:24. So It is about 1,5 meters long and 1,2 m high. The model next to the snowtrooper is now part of the hoth diorama.
