Star Wars Diorama

I bought the entire costume, that included the gaffi stick. I do not know, what the origin is.

I'm being a little egocentric - maybe.

Senior member here Tom Spina (RPF name Wampa) and I worked together a few years ago to create a resin cast resin Gaffi stick that had all the hallmark elements of the screen-used club. Most Gaffis are built from actual war clubs purchased from fijishop.com, and almost all vary from the screen-used piece (thus Tom's intent to create a screen-accurate resin cast). He sent me his actual wooden club which had an accurate "pineapple" but the handle end was inaccurate. I cut the handle off, added a bend to it, re-did all the etching, and formed the pommel that the mace attaches to.

Yours seems accurate to the movie prop. If its a resin cast, it may be Tom's version. If so, then I'm proud to have a small contribution to your collection!

Some asked me about the mannequins. It is indeed a tricky challenge, to get the pose right.

I thought, I take the build of ESB Luke as an example.

This is a pic of the pose, I had in mind originally:

I chose this mannequin as a starting point:

The soft parts are from ANOVOS. They came out great.

These are the boots:

The holster rig is from MP-Filmcraft.

This is the first dressing:

I repositioned the legs of the mannequin:

Next step were the attachment of head and hands.

This was the first testing:

It was not too bad, but I was not fully happy. So I went for a different direction. I changed the legs. And this was the next try:

That did not really work either. The legs are too steady, for this pose.

I choose this screen shot as a new reference:

This was the next step:

The arms seems too wide, so I repositioned it. This is the next status:

I liked it. Next step was the weathering and the final positioning:

Dirty up the face and hair...

The cut off boobs made me laugh out loud a bit. Speaking of which, I think your Leia (in the prison cell) is the best pose. Most complicated, and captures the film look best.

You are right, the pose was tricky. But after she did not have to stand on her own feet, you are quite flexible in just sawing the legs and repositioning them.

I used this mannequin:

I replaced the boots with more screen accurate ones. They are from Robert (Motorcowboy) and came out great.
