Just started work the Revell T70 x-wing, had the kit for a while, and decided time to start it!

Scribed some new panel lines using the force awakens cutaway book, the box art, and some pics of the cgi model of poes black xwing as guide, and rebuilt the cockpit to accept a bandai 1/48 snowspeeder pilot, as well as adding the detail inserts on the inner wing faces.

Currently working on replacing the wing tip laser cannons with brass tubing.

Off to a great start. Looking forward to the rest

Overall the kit is pretty good, it just has suffers from the typical Revell simplified detail for reduction of parts needed.

Thanks, the basic shape of the kit is accurate, which is all i need to work with. having good reference pics make the detailing easy.

Revell used the same cad files as Bandai, so i hear, but simplfied them to make the molds easier!

Been a while since i did any work on the T70,(work commitments etc),finally managed to do a huge amount of work on the kit over the weekend.

I replaced the engines from the kit and added new ones from an old fine molds 1/72 X wing, and replaced the cannons with brass tube for better strength. Just started on painting and weathering by fading the blue markings with diluted white grey paint, and paint chipping on the nose.
