How Much Does Your Local Theater Charge?

Harkins is
$6.50 matinee
$8.00 regular
$12.50 3D
If you get there $6.00 loyalty cup refills all year are $1.50
Everything else is insanely priced

We have another theatre that changes hands constantly but right now just reopened with friggen La z boy seating and they are .
$4.00 matinée
$6.00 regular
Which I'm sure will change after they either build up business or close down yet again .
They have there own expensive coffee shop inside so maybe that will make enough to keep the shows down.
They also have a second story video game room most people don't even know about that's kind of cool . you can hang out up there most times like its your own private space overlooking the theater , even has a bathroom .

the BEST PART of all this is, they have this semi
friendly frisk which is being talked about being illegal... but they aren't actually frisking you..so this is why they get away with it. if your wearing a jacket they ask to unzip it and hold it open to show your not carrying any rifles on you.

If they did that here maybe 3 people would be aloud in LOL .
Arizona baby !

they do have someone walk through about 20 minutes into the movie to make sure no one is BBQing or something .

the near by city is really rough... so we now have security which involves 1 police officer and about 3 bouncers every friday and saturday night. they have also had to evacuate a few times because kids will call in bomb threats.

to be honest the movie going experience has been nothing but anxiety for me now... ever since that damn joker shooter. ever since then anyone who gets up pulls me right out of the movie and i watch ever move they make.. i have to sit right next to the exit (seats J5 and J6)

before AMC go remodeled i was loyal to this other theater "flag ship" the was until a worker there was stuck with a syringe... so now im so paranoid i have my own dowel that i use to check the sets before we sit down.

a little back ground of this city, it has a HUGE heroin epidemic for 30 plus years. when i was real young we had people putting broken needles in coin returns on soda machines and pay phones.. we also had a group of people randomly sticking people. my aunt fell victim to this in a super market while waiting in line to be checked out. some one ran up behind her stuck her in the shoulder and yelled "you have aids"

thankfully everything turned out ok, but its so sickening... since a young age I've been scared of this. i had my mother always yelling at us not to stick our fingers in the soda machines, my aunt got stuck... just nasty!

between this fear, and the shootings, the movie going experience isn't what it use to be for me... too freak'n paranoid

any of you guys have 1/2 dollar days? flag ship before the needles, and before they went under had tuesday night half off day. all shows were 1/2 the price, so we could see a movie for 5.50. it was busier on a tuesday night then friday

No idea what the cost is because I just wait for the bluray release. Usually ends up costing about the same and I can watch it as many times as I want. (Or sell it and get most, if not all of my money back)

My local Cinemark Ohio:

Early Bird (first showing) $5.80
Matinee $6.80 adult $6.35 senior
General AD weekday $8.85 adult $6.35 senior
General Ad weekend $9.30 adult $6.35 senior
Monday Senior Day $8.85 adult $5.15 senior
Tuesday discount day $5.25

That's crazy , the theaters here are safe as your living room . at least that's how it seems
Were right on the border with mexico and I cant think of a part of town that would be two dangerous to get caught out after dark in.
They might be a bit scary LOL .

No half price night but a $5.00 throw back Thursday old movies like Goonies or princess bride .

Here in the UK at my local it cost 9 GBP for standard and 24 for VIP seats (these seats do include some sweets and hot drinks.)

Laughlin's riverside casino late 80 early 90s
.50 cents under 18
1.50 adult
All shows

They wanted parents to have a place to leave kids while they gambled .
Even at the dollor and a half I saw Unforgiven , the Doors , and BTTF II so many times it was ridiculous . LOL .

Guess who's about to go to the theater with a dowel in their boot lol. That's just gross. You'd get a beating you wouldn't forget if you did that here.

Wow! That is messed up! I never even thought about anything like that. I will surely be checking seats from now on!! Jeez!!!

Back when I was a teen in the late 70s and early 80s our theater didn't have alarms on the emergency exits. One guy would pay and go in, then just go open the emergency exit and the rest of us would just slowly shuffle in from behind the curtain. Just had to hope no one noticed. The wall was also covered by the curtain, so you would just come in the exit and slowly slide along the wall until you got to an opening in the curtain and just .......appear!
