I love the Bandai Astromech Droids. They're easy to assemble and a nice diversion from bigger projects. Plus they're easy to customize.

I assembled the R2 units dome, then filled in the seams and internal space with clay . Then I made a 2 piece silicone mold of the R2 dome, and casted a replica in clear resin. Now I have a R3 series Astromech dome, and I can make R3-A2.

I'm going to convert C-3PO to K-3PO so he has a friend.

Also working on finishing off R2-Q5 and will be making R5-J2 as a companion for him.

Anyone else making different Astromech Droids or Protocol Droids from these kits?
