As I said I haven't got to the dome inner ring yet but I have already thought about the screws and it connecting inside rather than outside. :thumbsup

So I've been playing around with the mount attachment ring as I was not happy with it. Looking at this thing for hours it struck me that the faceplate had more of the cast on it than the original helmets as I believe they were trimmed after casting. So I set about cutting the mask down a bit which in turn meant I could place the ring further forward and still have the correct overhang of more or less half. I think it now looks pretty spot on. I also trimmed the neck extension from the bottom of the neck as that's not present on the rotj mask. Now to work out the dome attachment on the inside of that!
Oh and the ring is not permanently fixed on yet as I will be moulding it with the filler but will add the ring as a separate piece after they are cast.

Great work Mark, every time I go into a hardware store I'm in the plumbing section, there are similar flanges but never quite right.
