Securing a glass dome to wooden base

I'm looking for some clever way I can lock/secure a glass cloche/dome to its wood base. I want the option to unlock it as well so I want to avoid any adhesives.

Here is the base itself it's more like a plate as far as shape

I think the easiest way would be to glue a small plate or screw to the bottom of the jug, and then add a hole to fit it in the plate. If you want to avoid glue entirely, you might could drill a hole in the glass and screw it to the plate.
