Blade Daywalker Vest build

thanks gothic! the final mags and darts turned out decent.
darts final.jpgmags 2.jpg
on the mags I painted the shell with the foam silver metallic and the mags were flat black.
I punched holes in the back and painted them silver to them the loaded mag effect.

I cemented foam to the bottom of tubes and used a dremel to file them down to the cone shape
for the armband I used 2 inch webbing, 1 inch elastic and 2 inch elastic on the ends with Velcro to attach them.
blue food coloring in cheap plastic test tubes from amazon
plasti dipped and painted silver metailic.

I got the rivets, snaps/buttons and sword holder on the vest. I will get pics of that in the next couple days.

Thanks to GRMM for the back pics of the movie used vest, it helped!
I made a piece that snaps on the outside of the top piece and the inside of the lower backpiece.
it wraps around the sheath and velcros.it in place. I put the back side of a snap at the bottom with a elastic the comes through to secure it.
This one is getting close to complete.
I ended up using smaller rivets painted black I had those already and the snaps seemed a little too big to me.

sheath holder open and unsappped and closed and unsnapped

I had not really considered the glaive but its just a simple hinge and some foam
boomerang2.jpgboomerang.jpgboomerang 3.jpgboomerang 4.jpg

I need to paint he glaive, and have the mac 10 to complete.

so does the glaive lock into an open position?
No it doesn't.. A screw goes through. I reinforced the foam in the middle with some craft popsicle stick type things
The washers sit against the wood and I put a lock washer in as well.
There is enough friction to hold it in place but also allows for the closing and opening motion.

Blade gun.
Not the right base gun but it will get the job done.
Need some good weather to base and paint the glaive and the gun.
Then the holster for the gun and should be done.

holster for the gun. foam, pleather, and removeable screw down rivets.
Patterned it

Glued it up

Cant think of anything else except the coat which I never planned on doing.
All that's left is painting the glaive and the gun.

Cant wait to see this on my friend!

couldn't resist a full suit up even though its not for me.
one with a leather duster I have

Ok I am calling this one done(for now Ha)
The other utility belt I made wasn't supportive enough of the gun, so I made another with webbing and some reinforcement in those 2 areas
Painted the Glaive
Weathered the gun. The gun isn't perfect but it was a $3 dollar store find with scrap foam, screws, and pvc, as cheap as it was I am happy.
Might get some pics up at some point of my buddy rockin it if he is cool with it.
