Hey Gang! I know there's at least three members here who have the needles / firing pins from original Hales Grenades.
If you have time, and a caliper handy, would you please take some measurements for me?
I based my drawing off of a near 100% print of one of scottjua's original parts photos, oddly I found what looks like an old blueprint of a No.3, Mark 1 and printed it out at as near 100% life-size as I could too, and wouldn't you know it looks longer and has a slightly different shape than scottjua's. Hopefully there aren't as many iterations of the needle as there are of the wind vanes and grenade bodies!
Not included in the drawing, but something I'd like to know, is... how many grooves are there down the sides of the needle?
If there are any other transitions, shapes, or dimensions I may have missed in the drawing from not having the actual part in hand, please include them in your responses.
I have an idea for this part and thought it'd be neat to have it be accurate to the original. So, if you can help me out, that'd be AWESOME!
I look forward to seeing how close my guesstimates are!
