I never saw this in stores and I really want one, but the only ones online are exorbitantly priced in the extreme. $100 on ebay, $200 on Amazon. I understand these retail(ed) for the same as the others in the line, so what's up? Are we just in a dry spell?
 
I think they were pretty rare. I think they've only been released once as a single vehicle and then a few years ago as a 3 pack with the batmobile.
 
A local store had a bunch of diecast batman stuff from the new stuff going back to the 60s but I don't remember seeing a batwing there.
