it looks like he's got shin guards w/ shoes from these shots

Also using the Mattel Multiverse Aquaman action figure for reference

    Parts Breakdown
Upperbody / tattoos: Since I don't want to draw tattoos on every time, I'm getting a shirt printed by ZentaiZone based on the design by Mark here: http://4neodesigns.com/product/aquam...tice-v1-shirt/

Pants: gotta go thrift store hunting, and use a permanent marker to draw on the designs.

Trident: I'm going to get a Rubies one and cut the top and bottom off and attach them onto a PVC pipe so I can scale properly and repaint.

Armour Pieces: foam for now, maybe upgrade to Worbla in the future.

    Beard/hair: That's how I normally look.

Would a airbrush maybe work better for that fading in the pants?

It most definitely would, but I'm not ready to drop $150 on an airbrush setup at this point. Plus my painting skills are extremely limited.

I bought a cheap airbrush not too long ago from harbor freight and it's lasted me over 3 years. I think I paid like $20 for it. It came with the airbrush, the hoses, and the 2 paint tanks.

From looking at the figure for scaling I could see that I needed the bottom set of prongs to be approximately at the top of my head.

The Rubies Trident barely is 4ft long, but can be lengthed by adding 3/4" sch40 PVC pipe.

I cut the top and bottom off of the original so I can begin to mount it on the new pipe.

With the help of a heat gun, the top and bottom pieces fit PERFECTLY over 3/4" (1.050" OD) schedule 40 pipe.

Since it began as a 10ft length I figured out how far I could stick the pipe into the headpiece (3-5/8"), then took that off and glued the bottom part to that end of the pipe. I was then able to lay the pipe and headpiece on the floor and figure out where the bottom of the headpiece would be and add the 3-5/8" to that and cut the pipe down.

After gluing the parts together I sanded all the mold seams and any "funny marks" in the parts.

    On to priming and paint!!

I can't say enough how happy I am with the awesome finish this Rustoleum one produces! I've tried so many different brands, etc, but nothing has been as brilliant as this one.

It's great for the price. Headpiece underscaled for an adult, yes, but close enough for me. I'm no Jason Momoa anyway

    GAUNTLETS

I started off by making a generic cone shape. I modeled it in Inventor, flattened and printed it as a template, then cut away the parts to get the correct shapes as used in the movie.

I flipped that over and used that one as a template for the other arm and cut valleys in the inside to create the accented ridges without the scale pattern.

Not much to look at yet, but here they are:

Finally got some motivation to get back on this project.

I used some pieces of scrap foam and plastic to make a stamp to put the scale patterns on.
