Battle starship

Those are some really cool ships in your display case. :cool:cool:cool

To paint or not to paint...

How about... build two! :D You are going to need a larger display case.

That display cabinet is amazing.

And let me add to the congratulations on your retirement! I know your coworkers will miss you.

Thank you, Tom-san.

Yeah, I miss them too even in this short while ago.

thank you very much, Hagoth-san.

Make it two ??!! Oh, no!!! :lol

Here is a very little visibly progress even in a couple of days.

I finished the ring shaped fixture in the mid section.

I rebuild the core section to have more depth.
It took many hours to determine the design of detailing.
Here it is. I hope you'll like it.

I imagine that this place is for the docking bay for supply.
So the basic concept is the bunch of connecting tube for supply.

I inserted the clear rod inside of this tube to get a lighting effect.

Thanks for looking.

From tomorrow, I am going to start the design of the engine section and build it.
Huuuuum....

Katsu.

Great work Katsu-San, such a great mind for design, I'm looking forward to your engines, I can imagine many little boosters surrounding 4 medium sized thrusters ( 2 on both sides ) with lots of connecting pipes and may intricate little parts connecting them all together ( a bit like a half exposed jet engines but bigger ) but what do I know your the master at this, what ever you build I'm sure everybody is going to be amazed by you design, skill and build.
Thanks for building
Ben

Thanks for the comment.
Your idea about the engine is almost as same as I imagine now. But most of all, I'm very happy that my little work could make somebody imagine any new idea. To create something no one ever seen before is the essencial joy of what we are doing.

Now you have me thinking (outside the box ) as they say !!!!

Thank you very much SofaKing-san and pubriusr-san and sorry to get you back late.

Here are some progress in this weeks.

Started to build engineering section.

Nozzles.

This is it for now.

My wife and daughters planned a domestic trip for me.
It's a trip to Kanazawa city in Ishikawa Pref.
One of the most beautiful old city in Japan which was used to be governed by the one of the biggest Daimyo 'Kaga' in Edo era.

Here are some pics.

Upon arrival, My daughters rent a Kimono and dress for me as they planned.

We visited The Kenroku-en which was a garden of Kaga Daimyou's castle.
It is a huge place and you can't walk around in a day.

Entrance of the castle.

It's the guard wall of castle.
The square window at the bottom of the wall is a gunning port.

The narrow isle of the Geisha town.

This is a candy shop.
It's been established in 1830.

This is the workshop of the gold leaf.

this is the warehouse of the workshop.
It's covered with 20000 sheet of gold leaf.
The thickness of each gold leaf if 1/10000 mm and it's for real.

Here is the quarters of Buke-Yashiki. The residences of Samurai of Daimyo.

One of the entrances.

The garden of the samurai residence.

Then we went down to the big market at the center of the city.
we grabbed the small bottle of sake and walk around and enjoyed many fresh seafood. Shrimps, oysters and many more.

At the inn.
Playing a board game together.

That was like a dream.

Thanks for watching.

Thank you for your kind comment, Pcoz^san.
Kanazawa-city is really fantastic place.
I have been wanted to visit there for long time and it was beyond my expectation.

Inspiring and beautiful work on your vision of your star ship. You have a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much for the preasant comment, Hagoth-san.

It's a northern side of the mainland Japan.
It took only 1 hours flight from Tokyo and also Shinkansen Train is available. Only 2 and a half ride.

I will post some progress soon.

Thanks for sharing your family/trip photos yuumi-san , you are indeed a lucky man !. You've a beautiful family .
Re; your engine/engineering updates , again beautiful/intricate workmanship . Do you also practice origami ? Asking because your designs after scored , cut and folded , somehow reminds me of that delicate craft .

Cheers Ged :thumbsup

The amazing builds continue. Awesome work on those drives!

And thank you for sharing photos from your wonderful trip. That castle looks amazing. If I ever get to Japan, I will have to add that to my list of potential stops.

Thank you very much, Ged-san.
I'm so happy if you enjoyed those pics of our little trip.

Most of Japanese boys and girls learn Origami at their elementary school days.
I've learned to make many things like flowers animals and toys.
Also, for people who have been hospitalized due to serious illness or people who were in tragedy,
there is a custom of giving a thousand paper cranes for encouragement and pray.
So, every Japanese has a basic Origami skill anyway. I don't know if my build this time is influenced by my Origami skill.:D

Thank you very much, Vector3-san.
I really regret that we couldn't have enough time to take a good look at that castle this time.
I strongly recommend you to visit Kanazawa-city if you have a chance to come to Japan.
IMO, it's better than Kyoto.;)

The thrusters are looking good

What a cool vacation!

Thank you very much! blakeh1-san.

As others have said:

amazing engines
gorgeous scenery and architecture
beautiful family

Thank you very much, Tom-san.
I always wanted to visit that city since I was young and it came true at last.
The city is facing a beautiful and fish-full ocean and has beautiful mountains behind.
Having sufficient hot springs and beautiful many streets that haven't been suffered
any damage by that war and any natural disasters. You will see the real scenery of good old Japan.
Many beautiful crafts and gastronomy remain as a tradition as it was a castle town where one of Japan's leading lords was ruling.
I'm so happy that I could visit this town with my beloved family.

Almost Three weeks have been already passed since I retired. I am getting a pace of daily activity.
My stressful ex job damaged me both physically and mentally. But now I am able to sleep well and tight at night.
Less drinking and regular meal time. Enjoying a garden work, house keeping and cooking.

The model build was the one thing that keep me from my stress of job.
And the wonderful support and comment from you and the good friends here in this site for my build are my treasure.
You may have no idea how much I feel I owe you all.

I build model almost every day now. I think I can pour much more on that to make a better model.
And if I could show you a better work for my friends, maybe I could reimburse a little for what I owe you.
That is my pleasure.

Katsu.

Best update ever! You have a beautiful family! Enjoy your retirement and cherish each and every moment you have with them. :)

The garden of the samurai residence was amazing! Thank you so much for sharing.
