I had a few free hours today so I finally got to testing out a theory I had. I wanted to engrave the Denix lower behind the scope mount in the easiest way possible. Since my design skills are nil, I pulled a picture off Google image and did a bitmap trace. I used a $40 spring loaded diamond drag bit from eBay. Since this was a test run I kept the Z Axis at zero. Now that I know it works, I will adjust the sizing and positioning, sand the current engraving and give it another try. Although its far from perfect, It looks a lot better in person than the pictures, and I'm happy with how the first test came out. I will have to build a better jig, but it was pretty quick and easy to do.

If anyone has a ShopBot and wants the files just ask.

Looking pretty dang good already! Some aluminum solder paste could probably fill in the "M96" on the stock Denix. Sand it back down and you're ready to go.
