1/144 Fine Molds and Bandai Slave 1

I got the Jango Fett FM Slave 1 today and will post more pictures later. I'll have the Bandai Slave 1 at the end of the week. That one is going to be Boba's version. Sorry for the blurry pictures:

The nice thing about such a small model is that the base painting goes rather quickly:

The other thing is, Fine Molds really did a fantastic job with the details at this scale. I have to say that there are some minor spots, especially on the engine side, that have more detail than it's larger, 1/72 scale brother. I would guess that, since this kit was produced in 2011 as opposed to 2005-6 of the larger one, they refined their injection molding process or updated their prototype models with more detail.

I'm excited to see how the Bandai version stacks up.

Jango's 1/144 Slave 1 is just about done. It really works well with Bandai's 1/144 Millennium Falcon. So much so that the figures fit very nicely in the Slave 1 cockpit.

Just in time... I got the Bandai kit today. As you can see, they are virtually the same size. The Bandai version is only slightly smaller.

Backside is coming along nicely... Bandai does a fantastic job in breaking up the layers and pretty much color coding all the parts. Assembly is tedious, but fun:
