Master Replicas Y-Wing - Rebuild and Paint as Gold Leader

I recently acquired a perfect example of the MR Y-Wing
My immediate thoughts (like many others here) were that it is a stunning model but wearing an awful paint scheme...

What follows is a day-by-day blog of the rebuild and re-paint of this expensive lump of resin...

Guidelines for the Geeks (of which I am one!)...
This project is not intended to be a 'Greeblie Perfect' rebuild, it is intended that the miniature ends up looking close to this Studio Image
Some parts of the MR model that are not on the Studio Model will be retained to prevent too much disruption to the resin
The painting will be done with a view to displaying the model, not filming it

So, here we go... I hope you enjoy...

Fantastic job!! I had the exactly same thing done to my MR Y-wing, mine was painted by master modeler Dean Dymerski who did the paint master on the MR Falcon
