I would have never expected something like this, but this is 1997 in reverse, to me as a formerly avid action figure collector. From brickwalls to shrimps, as if the original characters were deflated. At least we may see more MOTU cosplay at conventions ...

the art on those packages is amazing...and skeletor looks ok. but not sure on the rest.

Agreed. The art is amazing. Reminds me of the original storybooks. The figures...not so sure. I think I'm more thrown off or surprised that this isn't released by funko, or whoever it is putting out all those other retro 3.75" retro figures.

I love the idea of the retro figures, but something just isn't clicking with them.

The plastic... the color... something is wrong.

They look more like dollar store knock off's than something retro.

proportions as well... like everything is a mm too thin.

Thats not I recall them looking from the 80's

They do look like badly made knockoffs but that packaging is great. It's weird they're putting these out when you can just buy high end versions of the normal 80s ones.
