Hey I am a long time reader, first time poster, and I am obsessed with figuring out how to make replicating the Spidey lenses from the new Cap: Civil War trailer.
After a week of pondering, I have some ideas.
The open/close iris mechanism is doable, and could be lazer cut from a design similar to this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Paper-Iris-Glasses/
They could be controlled with an arduino (flora, pro mini, or teensy) hidden in the web shooter refills. you could run wires up along the seams to the mask/faceshell.
In the faceshell you would embed the lenses, controlled by a linear micro servo (like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWKhVf4uujg)
You could wire buttons to the fingers for controlling the eyes.
"Hello World" proof-of-concept prototype in progress.
