This appears to be what they used in the film. It's a newer "retro" remake of the viewmaster. Cool thing is, they let you make your own picture discs, so if we could gather the Turbo Rider or dinosaur photos shown in the film, we could make accurate discs.

In the film the viewer appears to have been modified with rings for a neck strap to loop through. I cant quite figure out what was used to connect the loops, but the loops themselves are keychain rings The connectors are smaller and thinner yellow material that has been put into holes drilled into the back of the viewer. I also cant figure out where the red plastic cord slider comes from.

Regarding the picture discs, I noticed the 2 dinosaur shots are of Schliech dinosaur toys, and found a few more promo shots of their figures. These can be used to fill out the rest of the disc.

And here are the slides seen in the film.

If you order through the site above its about $35 for one disc and viewer, it starts getting expensive when you want more than one disc. Of course i want a Turbo Rider and Dinosaurs one...

Re: Turbo Kid "image3D" Viewer or Viewmaster

I loved the design of the wristpiece on the TurboKid outfit, considering designing it and offering it for sale.

Here's the slide canister, an Eastman Kodak canister:

And here is the Turbo Rider reel I'll have made. I had to fill out a few of the extra frames.

Also identified the cassette player the Kid uses in the beginning of the film. Ironically, most on ebay don't work anymore, lol. It's a Sony Walkman Sport WM-F73

Based on a silicone slap band wrist watch. The light appears to be a Blue 22MM 24V ac/dc LED pilot light. I have both on order so we'll see if they fit together. I'm hoping he light can be rewired to work on a button battery.

This one has been hard. There are a LOT of very similar generic space guns that have spinning LEDs in a ball in the center, but I havent found anything with this exact shape. This one also has some sort of spinning blade or fan in the center.

Just got my silicone slap watch for Apple's Locator Bracelet. Color looks pretty spot on to me, but it changes in different lighting. Most people have it listed as "sky blue" or "light blue". Should have the indicator light soon.

Hello- Well I just started this project. Thanks for the info. I made a reel and got the viewer. It slides apart easy with a flat blade screwdriver (be slow and careful, and watch where the spring attaches.).. You will need to take it apart to attach the the yellow strings for the strap.. I also could not find the right cord lock, so I made do with some red ones I found. Once building is underway I'll post a thread. Thanks again for this great thread.

My viewer is complete (and my gnomestick. I'll make a thread for that later).. Photos a soon as I can. I used yellow paracord 325 from Joann's. It is textured unlike 550 cord and after some dirt looks ok. The smaller cord for attachment I used SecureLine by Lehigh Braided Mason Line from Lowe's. The colors are not the same, weathering helped. The cordlock I found is a red one from Paracord Planet. It is not the same, but it's red and double holed so it will pass until I can find one. I wanted to leave this info here to keep it all together. Once again Kylash, thanks for such a helpful amazing thread.
