Revell Colonial Viper Mk2 Photoetch Cockpit

Tamiya surface leveller was just out of the can at room temp. Shaken well and light coats to start. Great stuff.

Engine cans done, engine sections partly finished and chipping/wear and tear on fuselage.

Partially finished weathering and carbon scoring...not entirely there but close now. Just a coat of Matt varnish and then some fine detailing.

Quick update, almost done with weathering and then onto the last fine detail painting and base making.

Can someone help me with a base making tutorial?

Smokin!

I can answer that if XS Hster doesn't mind me butting in.
Yes the Revell release does come with yellow emblem as separate decals.
And having built both the Mobius and Revell Mk2's, I have to say that the Revell decals are vastly superior. The Mobius ones were semi transparent and disappeared if applied over painted wing markings.

Fantastic build by the way, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished ship.

The decal sheet does in fact have both COMPILED (i.e Red stripe + logo) and standalone symbols for the brave souls who wish to airbrush on.

I tend to be a decal master/monster and love the challenge of a difficult shape or surface to work on...

My thanks for the positive feedback from established forum members. Because DAMN!!!...you must have seen some stuff in almost ten years of forum posting.

Yes the Moebius decals are bad, the green symbols on my Moebius Cylon raider were horrible, I ended up getting maskings and airbrush those on aswell which look a ton better then the decals

Several shots of the finished Mk2 Viper. Great kit, Paragrafix PE set was well worth the investment, as were the 3mm LED's and the hours of wiring and light bleed problem solving.

MK 7 Viper might be next, or a WW2 Mk2 Hurricane. If it's a Si-Fi build I'll be back for more pics.

I hope you guys like the finished product. Peace out. H.
