Anyone have $150,000 just lying around???

With my luck my daughters would find it and, next thing you know, Fett will be having a tea party with Barbie and Doc McStuffins - probably after a crayon/marker makeover.

Question....why is there a carded one? These were canceled even before the mail away began which was all they were ever supposed to be.

Must have just been made for the 1979 Toy Fair. As a one of a kind item, and being what it is and represents, I actually think it's a good investment.

had a look at this and it looks iffy as hell, seems very dodgy. who would buy this over ebay without having it checked by a expert.

I'm with you. Fake cards and figures have gotten so good that you would need a specialist to verify it's authenticity. In addition, I was under the impression that none were even painted, much less carded.

They're talking about this over at Rebelscum. Apparently this figure is well known and legit. Some of the rocket firing prototypes were hand painted but this one was mocked up on a card for some reason.

I watched the Pawn Stars episode mentioned in the article. They had an authenticator there, he said it was real. He even pointed out the double sided tape they used on the back which was consistent he said with The Toy Fair display. They offered the guy $100000 for it. He wants $150000. In my opinion it's worth it. There is only one in the world, its SW most iconic figure in the world. Even if you are paying more than its possibly worth. It WILL appreciate in the coming years! ... So worth it! But I'm poor :(

I can completely understand that... I guess I would look at it more as simply an investment. People have 401K with Hundreds of thousands of dollars in them, to me this would be no different. Except, you will actually get to enjoy this investment! How many people actually get to enjoy money in an account or fund? You could have a piece of SW history, enjoy it, show it off! Love it! ... Call it Precious! ...and make bank on it! Lol ... Also, I bet your investment would do WAY better than the stock market I'm sure!

I remember when I got my mail away Fett and was pissed that it had no firing rocket. I still have it with the bag it came in but the bag split down the side, but the figure is still in excellent shape. I think mine was missing the blaster too.

I agree, it'd be a great investment, particularly being the only one. Over the next few decades, the price would almost certainly go up. Every time this gets listed, it could be the very last time. You'd just need at least two millionaires fighting for it. :)

I paid for it...when it was delivered....I stuck it up my bum.....:lol

Apparently that's what we bored millionaires do.....;)
