Batman/Batman Returns Batarang Prop Replica Set

I'm a huge Batman Keaton, but I just don't see $500 worth in it. Unless it was extremely limited to 1,000 pr something and can be removed from display. But that's my opinion. I always did like the 89 Bat props.

They are removable, but I can't find any review anywhere that describes what they are made of.

I'm going to guess they are made of some kind of fiberglass, or at least something less durable than the cast metal 89 batarang I have.

I'd also guess fiberglass... I've always been interested in what HCG puts out, but it seems nearly impossible to ever get any real info about their products, and nobody ever seems ready to shell out the bucks for them.

Let us know if you do get it though!

Bringing this back from the dead.

So, I bought this set recently, knowing ahead of time it's junk because it's just some recasts of SD Studios stuff and a small batarang. But I got it for under $200 and I really wanted to tear out the electronics of the Returns batarang.

And, well, it's not only recasts of the 2 SD batarangs, but the Returns was a few generations from the original. It's a mess. Like, warped. Lost details. Air bubble on tips. The button isn't even cast in red. It's just brush painted red, and poorly. And the damn plate on the back that covers the batteries broke as soon as I unscrewed it. It looked to be made of brittle resin. Not sure about the bodies of them what they're made of.

Anyways, for as inaccurate as they are the '89 batarangs are okay. The big one isn't just an SD Studios recast, it's a double sided one!

Long story short, it is NOT worth the original $500 price tag. It's not even worth the almost $200 I paid for it. I just wanted the parts of the Returns.

Here’s pics of the HCG Returns next to an original SD Studios. And for those of you who have an elusive original SD Studios and you’re like “why is your screen darker? That’s not the right blue!” it’s because Steve Dymzo (the SD of SD Studios) restored it for me about a decade ago. The adhesive on the original screen started cracking and peeling.

Notice the soft and/or lack of detail on the HCG, and the poor quality of it. Not to mention the shrink. I marked the tips of the SD on the poster board and lined the HCG up. Big difference.

Enjoy!

What is each batarang made of?
