Airwolf scale model recreation

Glad u like it so far. As for reference, lots of photos from the tv series and lots of still pauses playing the movie. Only way really and many differences throughout the series and in all the shots anyhow so this will be the best mix possible.

Ok time to start more work on the underside including the start of some detailing to the tail boom section and also on the nose scoop. Its not right and need to be reshaped. So lots of filling, sanding, painting, sanding and more filling to make smooth and ready for first primer application. All the paint will be hand mixed and will be a satin sheen effect. Don't forget, not shiny like many others, this will be battered and weathered and covered in sand like in the shot from the back end of the pilot episode.

Ok a bit of an update as the blasted computer hard drive crashed and some build photos which were on there are gone! Never mind. We now jump ahead a little in time and you will see that the upper turbo exhaust are made of aluminium are now fitted and look much more to scale. The small window cut outs have been added and detailing added. Roof hatch panel fitted above the cockpit which is rarely noticed in the TV series but is there in the movie. Lovely work done on the door panels. I hated the window sticker which is meant to represent a small cooling hatch window on a latch. Awful. No more. No we have a hand made 3D resin piece which really makes for the overall look no more than recessed door handles. Also, awful awful bent gun barrels in plastic. No more. These are hand turned aluminium with cut out vent slots. Belly detailing done. Rotor head fitted. Onwards and upwards folks. Enjoy

Hi Robert, yes indeed, sorry the pics are indeed the ones above the comments. Still having some computer faffs since I replaced the last one which died. So no photos missing, not to worry. Cheers :)

Wayne, the pix aren't showing in your last post.
Regards, Robert

EDIT: Or are the pix in post #32 to go with #33?

Ok a few more progress shots. Exhaust multiple layers of paint and some weathering and heat bloom added. Guns detailed and assembled. Multiple layers of grey satin paint mixed and applied then wet sanded and repainted. Done several times to get a nice smooth finish. Colour to be darkened and hand mixed to get the final finish. Lots more work to go yet!!15604_1430705997240852_406232739247322707_n.jpg17029_1431758603802258_2370086894580535307_n.jpg603757_1431568473821271_6809509636953077615_n.jpg10403662_1431685750476210_4865347523449167000_n.jpg10407498_1431568973821221_6404042896797242889_n.jpg10428143_1431682077143244_5317828760708813902_n.jpg11083633_1431567820488003_552532807982025002_n.jpg11096480_1431653253812793_4067566595858392539_n.jpg11096495_1431653723812746_4436500080014649505_n.jpg11102732_1431568690487916_8485761285359433449_n.jpg

Since you are building it, you must be Moffet so you cannot have it. I shall come by and take it on behalf of democracy, TV-entertainment and the sheer need of having to have that.
It's fantastic. Keep building this must be finished. Between the millions of X-wing fighters, Falcons and Enterprises, this is like a beautiful breath of fresh air.................. cool and dry at 30.000 feet.

Excellent work.

MORE PICTURES!!!!

Thank you thank you glad you are enjoying it
I shall do the same as Moffet and put an anti tamper code into Airwolf so that if it isn't entered after a certain time, it will have a Mind of its own haha

Ok as per request some more photos coming up. Now, have added mesh cowling inside the vents, put exhaust into rough position to see how they sit, first pass of white paint to underbelly, and masking removed to reveal nice line between dark and light colour, belly details now looking really lovely!!!!!!
Ive been doing all the rivet shadows and panel separation in the same topcoat colour but alternating the satin matt and gloss effects so all the detail is only visible from certain angles. I think it looks nice
