So, no RPF love for the new pilot, Poe Dameron?

Fistr look at he new Poe costume!!! What do we all think? Looks it is the same belt, boots, and possibly pants from TFA. The shirt is a classic Han ESB in slightly more natural color. The jacket, looks to be the more simple cafe racer discussed in early descriptions. Is it leather? Looks like it might be more of a waxed cotton

Just a heads up, for anyone who's a member of Rebel Legion or 501st, check your respective forums for an additional discount on Poe's Jakku/Vanity Fair cover boots from Po Zu.

So glad they added lights to the chest box for TLJ, I did that a few years ago on my x-wing Luke costume and I got a lot of "what the......" looks. Just looked like the box should have lights even though not screen accurate. I'm working on pieces now for my Poe X-wing get up, gonna hopefully be my next project.

PM sent about gloves

I have an extra pair of Men's Medium (size 9/22.50 cms) police riot gloves used as TFA pilots gloves. made by in the UK by Southcombe Brothers the original manufacturer. Sizing info here: http://www.southcombe.com/sizing/i70

The leather WampaWear is using is not heavy enough and it is not pebbled. The end of the gauntlet cuff on the replicas lacks the roll and the shape of the foam padding is slightly off. For most people they are close enough and are half the price of what I could get originals for last year. The Costumebase gloves have all sorts of dimensional issues on the pads (too big) and worst of all aren't even made from real leather but rather shiny "pleather" polyurethane.

WampaWear (Out of Colorado but made in East Asia) and CostumeBase on Ebay (in Argentina) both sell knockoffs of the orginals. They participated in group order on the OEM production gloves from Southcombe Bros. Which they then promptly copied but the copies are subpar imo. The originals were surplus police riot gloves aka public order gloves that came both lined with lightweight synthetic black fleece and lined with kevlar. Very heavy duty and well made. Both were used in filmed TFA. Southcombe Bros advised me that the reason the gloves were surplused was because the UK police force switched to a different riot armor which provided wrist/arm protection and the large gauntlet portion of the glove was no longer necessary.

I organized the group order of gloves we did for the Americas and Asia last year over at Rebel Legion. At the time Southcombe required a minimal order of 20 gloves at full MSRP. The Pound Sterling to USD exchange rate was not favorable at the time and trans Atlantic shipping was expensive. Organizing it and getting everyone to pay on time was a huge headache. With cheaper replicas that are close enough for most folks I do not think it is worth organizing another run from Southcombe and thats if they would even do it again as they are a large company I was surprised they even entertained doing such a small run.

Here are some photos of a pair from the group order. I believe the wrist straps were cut off those used in TFA. The glove has a triangle shaped gusset on the inside of the wrist.

I didn't dare touch it and was quite hectic, took a picture and thought someone will know what it is or what elements it is made of. This is also different from the tfa resistance chest box tube connector thingy, isn't it? There the tube just disappeared in a pocket.

I could be wrong but it looks like something that the costumers made themselves. It almost looks like it's plastic and was painted silver, but I can't say that for certain. It just doesn't look exactly like metal to me...

Maybe it's a 3D print? I really don't have any clue what it could be. I mean, the parts don't look all that different if you split the base from the elbow part, but the fact that the elbow connects to the base at the center rather than at the end throws me off...

And yeah, it is different from the TFA pilot where the hose went into a leg pocket. The outfit itself is also pretty different, for whatever reason. The color of the suit is more orange this time, and brighter, and the hose is a different kind of hose. There's also the holster that hangs lower and has a leg strap.

Does anyone have or know where I can find a model that's 3D print quality of the Resistance X-wing pilot vest buckle/chest plate that I could play around with?

Sorry if Necro :( But I have things

We need to get a 3d modeller on this so we can print that part.

Whipped this up the other day, stumbled upon this thread looking for reference pictures for Poe's Boots. Here you go. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2615982
