Godzilla 2014 Halloween mask+ Suit ideas- Into the Road for Comic con

Hi everyone,
San Diego comic con is on its way. I wanted to some kind of Godzilla 2014 partial costume, perhaps a full suit. I dont have any experience, but BecomingGodzilla site has been one helpful resource. I got this mask from Rubie's that i got at walmart, but it was fairly cheap, the snout is kind of small and the elastic has been torn. Theres a deluxe version of this mask, perhaps bigger and has eyelids. So i was thinking of using the mask i already have as a pattern to make it bigger from scratch or find a way to make it adjustable to my head and add some eyes, but i dont know exactly how to do that :/ The less cheap would be just to get the deluxe mask

Rubie's also made Godzilla hand gloves, so i could use that as well...
And as for the body, thats what i mean by partial. i found this image on the web of Godzilla wearing some kind of juit like the one the joker wears with a bow-tie. I wanted too add something like that to my costume, and add the spines in the back. But making the body out of foam and latex from a coveral, sounds very tempting as well.
For the tail i already a foam tube, it would be just finding a way to expand it and attach it to my waist

I don't know if this costume is a good idea for a con that takes place in the summer, in San Diego California, in a packed convention center.
Not only will it be super hot, but you will have no room to move. People will stomp on your tail, and you will be kind of blind with the mask on,

. I have heard, it gets super hot inside, and this will be on july, so extra hot. Maybe thats one reason i didint see costumes like these last year. G-fest is at smaller convention i believe, and thats maybe why the cosplayers have more room to move.
I was considering a partial costume to make my vision and breathing easier. Just the store bought or home made mask, add some holes to see.

I was just letting you know from experience. I have dressed up as a giant lizard too, and while the reactions were great it was a tough experience.
The costume was construced from upholstery foam, covered in latex. If this is what you are planning on doing I can be a big help to you on the tools, and methods to build this costume.

I had to have my brother follow me around to make sure I didn't pass out from heat stroke, guide me because of my limited vision, and keep me hydrated.

I was wearing a cooling vest under the costume. It lasted about 30 minutes, and I was soaking wet. I thought I would only be in the costume for 30 minutes, but ended up in it 4 hours because of how long the cosplay contests and judging take. Along with all the people I had to maneuver around.
I also had a way to open up the costume when I wasn't taking pictures to let the costume/ me breath.

Here are video links to other Godzilla costumes. You can pick and choose from their methods. All I can really recommend is do not use spray paint to color the costume. Mix a paint into the latex you put on the costume. If you put latex on the costume then put paint on it the paint will peel off. If it is in the latex it will bond to the latex already their. This method will also lessen the amount of latex you use, and speed up painting.

That first video has been one of my inspirations to make my suit..
At least your brother helped you, my family has been letting me know that they dont want follow a big lizard(Me) lol..maybe when they see the final product they will change their mind, . and thats why for convenience sake.. i wanna make it lighter and compact as possible...thats why a partial costume doesnt seem so bad..as long as it has the Godzilla look and shape..I was thinking like what this fursuit maker did..with a few modificiations. and sure i would love your help

They are like the ones in the videos I posted, but less latex.

I got the deluxe mask and Godzilla hands from Rubie's. the hands arent so bad, and the mask looks great, but you are right it does get hot fairly quickly. I will order that lizard man costume from the amazing spider and see if i can install a fan somehow..then i could also coat the suit with latex and give it a more scaleish look..at least thats my plan in theory
