In the TNG universe there is a building material whose use crosses all races and planets across the cosmos.

I assume the grating is just old plastic shipping pallets. Something similar was used in Aliens and Star Wars as well. http://www.therpf.com/f9/aliens-floor-tile-150618/

Has this stuff ever been found by the fan community?

I was just thinking about that stuff. I think an episode I saw last night triggered the realization that stuff is so universal. Would definitely like to know more.

Google: plastic or composite pallets

Also: Cable ladders, and I think this is closer to what they are, easy to build up into needed sizes

They show up in a lot of stuff, not just Tng! Somone here years ago said they were shelving for refrigeration units.

Yeah, regular plastic pallets are too big and thick. They just have a different overall structure.

Over on trekpropzone some said they were stackable shelving things. Still no source or accurate name for them. Old plastic pallets are all over Ebay, but I can't figure out the correct search term to find these things yet.

By the angled edge I don't think they are pallets or shelving units. Try looking for plastic drain covers or gratings.

I had saved the link to the company that provided these palettes, leach lines and containers for prop purposes used in TNG, gotta dig it out.

Someone on FB identified it as ORBIS Freezer Spacer, 1.5" Thick. Comes in black and blue.
HDPE, which is very difficult to paint.

I do not know price.

Pricing is tied to quantity as follows:

1 pc.= $46.94/each, 1/2 TL = $44.69, TL $42.34
(I asked, think I'll get some after moving this month)

I'd like to put a frosted material on the back, stick an LED light strip to it, to put some against a wall as a trek prop background...
