MAG Fest....Anyone ever been?

I'm moving to VA/washington DC this weekend and have been thinking of going to this, but I'm not sure the "vibe" of the event...is this not really a "convention" per se'? I know I'll be trooping it on sunday though, but wanted to get opinions..
