Injustce Armored Flash Build

Hey new guy here,

I've always been an artist/ builder of sorts but this is my first attempt at making a outfit. I recently got my hands on Bill Doran's work with foam-smithing, and needless to say, I'm impressed. So my first project is going to be the Flash (always been a fan of this guy). But more specifically, My design will be from the video game Injustice's Flash Prime.

So far what i have in mind is a hybrid of foam, cloth and plaster... But more specifically the hardest setback is finding a material that mimics the hex pattern of his uniform. As for the cowl... does anyone have a pepakura file for a cowl that can get me started??

You probably won't find that pattern many places. The best looking solution (and therefore probably the most expensive) would be to commission the undersuit from one of the many Photoshop artists here who design dye sublimation suits. They will design it so that it looks as close to screen-accurate as possible, then you can send it to a fabric printer for printing, then sew it together.

As for the mask/cowl, I have not seen any pepakura files anywhere for that particular look. You could commission that as well (I don't know what your budget is), or you could take a look at existing files such as JFCustom's Foam Files (which he graciously offers for free) and modify one of those to fit your needs.
 
Oooh, I love armored versions of comic characters. Excited to see what you come up with!

And like Vox said, give altering an existing cowl a go, maybe Captain America, for instance.
 
I was thinking about cosplaying this, but I was seriously hoping I could get a pep for the helm, chest and boots at least :(. I can't believe no one ever did this. Anyways, I just wanted the armored pieces, I was gonna do the undersuit in a vinyl-like fabric, but freehanding all the armor makes me think about it a thousand times.
