Assassin's Creed: Unity -- Elise's Pistol and Sword

Hi there!

I'm new to creating props and whatnot, and I'm looking for a little guidance on how to create Elise de la Serre's pistol and sword from Assassin's Creed: Unity. I figured for the pistol I would simply sculpt and cast the thing, but I'm a little lost on the sword. If anyone has suggestions or advice it's most welcome, including products you like using and such! I'm hoping to post my progress on this thread as well.
