Brass Infinity Gauntlet

Hello everyone, I am going to be sharing with you one of my favorite projects that I have just finished and that is my Infinity Gauntlet! This is my first post on the RPF but I have been a long time browser. I would like to state that all of this is handmade. I drew up templates based on the images from ComicCon and it wasn't until I cut out the pieces in brass that they reveal the image of Thanos wearing it on his...left hand. Its a little upsetting that it will not be screen accurate with future movies but Dagnabbit I wanted a real Infinity Gauntlet Asap! However I was ecstatic to find out the color pattern of the gems. On my gauntlet all of the gems are lit with an led of the same color except for the center orange gem. When looking at the released image of the gauntlet I initially thought the center gem was white but in the collector's gem scene in Guardians of the Galaxy they reveal an orange gem. My solution was to use a white led in an orange colored gem, and I must say I am satisfied with the result. When I was drawing out the templates all I had in mind was minimal brass use. I "should" have been able to get it out of one 1'x2' sheet but do to sloppiness and poor planning I had to get a few extra, small pieces. The thickness of brass I used was 20 gauge so it is decently strong. For the copper accents I took a piece of 3/4 copper pipe, cut it and flattened it out into a sheet. All my method were derived from this video, https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...twIwAA&usg=AFQjCNFts-MRd93cC9KZJ1YZMeOLB_k6HA , and others like it. So anyway here's my pictures, enjoy!

Wow man you did what I've said I was going to do for over a year now. I saw that same video bought the template and some sheets of metal. It's been sitting in my garage ever since.

Simply amazing. Great work man.

Thanks all! Once I get my templates redrawn out I will post them up for sale somewhere for anyone interested. They will be ambidextrous for those who would prefer a lefty.

I went to hobby lobby and bought a variety pack of colored gems. I then took 400 grit sand paper to smooth them out. The big orange one actually was not orange, originally it was clear I had to color it with a permanent marker lol. After all that I took some clear gloss nail polish and gave them a good shine!

Infinity gauntlet V.2 is now in progress. Went ahead and did the most tedious part first, that being the fingers. Going for a much cleaner looking piece this time around. Hoping to work on this on the weekends as much as possible with more pics along the way]uploadfromtaptalk1444141863504.jpguploadfromtaptalk1444141918794.jpguploadfromtaptalk1444141956975.jpguploadfromtaptalk1444141984590.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1444142039029.jpguploadfromtaptalk1444142091720.jpguploadfromtaptalk1444142091720.jpguploadfromtaptalk1444142169479.jpguploadfromtaptalk1444142218147.jpguploadfromtaptalk1444142245546.jpg
